Education & Experience
Dr. Dilek Kurban
PhD, Capital Markets, Mutual Funds, Marketing, Strategy, Venture Capital
A 1996 graduate of Galatasaray High School, Smart&Start co-founder Dr. Dilek Kurban received her bachelor’s degree in Labor Economics and Industrial Relations from Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics.
She started her career at Yapı Kredi Bank and completed her master’s degree at Galatasaray University during the same period. She then worked at Şeker Yatırım Menkul Değerler in various positions. While continuing her PhD program in the Department of Financial Economics at Istanbul Commerce University, she also served as a guest lecturer at the same university. After receiving her PhD, she became the head of the marketing department at Inveo Portföy.
Today, she continues her academic studies as well as bringing together the knowledge she has gained in banking products, capital market instruments, digital transformation and institutionalization in her professional business life of more than 15 years under the roof of Smart&Start.
